Job Summary: StrongMinds Uganda (SMU) is seeking to hire a dynamic, professional individual passionate about HR and ready to learn, to fill the position of an HR Assistant to provide support to the HR department towards achieving the organization’s Strategic Objectives.
Job Summary: The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for supporting the implementation of the routine HR Administration processes and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- HR Records Management both hard and soft copies: Ensure that all supporting documentation for all the different HR processes are filed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide support to the Talent Acquisition and selection process.
- In charge of Human Resource Information System (HRIS): Timely update of HRIS system with new joiners, leavers and any other HR changes. Train New employees on how to use the system and provide capacity building to the existing employees.
HR Administration:
- Leave Management: Ensure employees enter their online leave applications before going on leave and track leave progress in HRIS.
- Timesheets Management: Ensure on-line timesheets are submitted by 05th of the following month.
- Coordinate Insurance i.e. Health, GPA and Life Insurance. Process all information for joiners and leavers.
- Process Staff Identity cards for all new staff and staff with changes in positions
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial and organizational psychology or any other related field from an accredited academic institution.
- One year of progressive HR Generalist experience.
- Experience working with HR Data and information is an added advantage
- Ability to organize work priorities, manage competing priorities and deliver on commitments.
- Highly proficient in computer applications, especially with word, excel, PowerPoints as well as internet navigation and electronic records Management.
- Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in a collaborative environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Highly flexible with ability to manage stress
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- High level of confidentiality and ability to pay attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to SMU Safeguarding/CP Policy & Code of Conduct
