About US:

VVOB – Education for
Development is a non-profit organisation that focuses on improving the quality
of education. WOB partners with Ministries of Education at national and
sub-national levels, and with public education institutions in nine countries
globally. Through the provision of technical assistance, the capacity of
national governments and local education authorities for the design and
implementation of education policies and/or innovations is improved. VVOB has its
headquarters in Brussels (Belgium), and became operational in Uganda in 2019.
VVOB has offices in Kampala and in Gulu and is expecting to set up field
offices in Arua and Isingiro soon

Job Summary: As
an expert and quality caretaker, the Finance Officer provides financial support
to the VVOB projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Filing payments data forms and cheques

·       Ensuring bank and cash bookkeeping (in excel)
and executing bank and cash payments and advances to stakeholders.

·       Financially accounting for documentation,
preparing, and filing documentation for accounting purpose

·       Ensuring proper and timely scanning and
update of the Navision bookkeeping system

·       Reporting and accounting for petty cash
funds.

·       Supporting in the development of financial
and administrative capacity of partners

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree or Equivalent in Accounting

·       At least three years of relevant work
experience in a similar position.

·       Experience with donor-funded projects.

·       Excellent ICT knowledge, especially text
processing and excel spreadsheets.

·       Communication skills: listening, speaking
& writing

·       Reliability

·       Accuracy

·       Planning

·       Organizing
