services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Head, Reconciliation & Support, the Records Manager will oversee the efficient administration and management of bank records in line with the laid down guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary focal point for records management and archiving as well as providing guidance to other departments on the management of records & Information
- Plan, organize, direct, review, coordinate, and establish controls for records activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of all records storage areas to confirm that proper access controls are in place.
- Develop a records storage plan, which includes the short and long-term housing of physical records and electronic information.
- Regular training and development of Records officers are knowledgeable and kept current about records
- Respond to information enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Monitor service delivery within the unit by reviewing Service reports to detect service failures and confirm that corrective action is taken within agreed timelines
- Set performance targets for staff and monitor performance against these.
- Monitor compliance with the records retention policies and confirm that they are aligned with the requirements in the FIA
- Managing and monitoring of resources within Registry
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the DFCU Bank Records Manager job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in either Records management or Library and Information Science
- At least five years of experience in records management,2 of which should be at management level
- Experience in Records Management, Record Retention Process, Record Archival and Records Retrievals
- Experience in Electronic Document management
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and Communication Skills
- Ability to manage teams
