Job Title:   General Accountant

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Monthly, quarterly, annual closures in liaison with the Chief Accountant:
• Ensure that Accounting processes are up to date in line with TotalEnergies group referential and guidelines.
• Ensure accurate and timely closure of the accounts on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Manage the Advance payments programme
• Manage the prepayment processes.
• Manage the intercompany reconciliation processes.
• Supervise proper recording of operations in general (P&L, BS) with a particular focus on Class 2 and Class 4 GL account.
• Ensure the correct stock’s treatment and participate in the Inventory verification processes.
• Participate in liaison with the Chief Accountant in the preparation and the coordination of the different financials’ audits with Total Group and external auditors (local and foreign) providing all data requested and explanations.
• Assist in Posting Sensitive entries e.g. local staff payroll, shares subscriptions, staff salary advances/Loans and taxes-social contribution computation for both locals and expats.
• Manage Accounts receivables including staff receivables.
• Provide support to the Accounts payable team.
• Prepare SOX controls in relation to Intercompany transactions
• Execute Balance sheet reconciliations and follow up of GL open items.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s in accounting, Finance or Business administration Qualified Accountant ACCA
• At least eight years’ experience within an Accounting Department
• Skills of ERP systems e.g. SAP.
• Ability to work under pressure, planning, interpersonal skills
