organization that brings together field epidemiology training programs (FETPs)
across Africa working side by side with Ministries of Health, regional and
international partners. AFENET works to strengthen epidemiology and disease
surveillance capabilities of African countries that are critical to meeting the
requirements of the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR)
strategy and the International Health Regulations (IHR).

About Project:

The African Field
Epidemiology Network (AFENET) was on 1 April 2016 awarded a five year Cooperative
Agreement (CoAg) to support the Uganda Ministry of Health (MOH) to strengthen its
capacity to execute core public health functions through embedded technical
assistance. The CoAg titled “Strengthen Uganda Ministry of Health Capacity to
Execute its Essential Public Health Functions through Provision of Technical
Assistance, Public Health Workforce Development and Institutional Capacity-
Building in the Republic of Uganda under the President’s Emergency Plan for
AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)” is in its fourth year of implementation whose budget period
expires on 30th September 2020.

Job Summary:    The Results Dispatch Officer will provide
timely, accurate and complete Results Review and Dispatch services for all
COVID19 laboratory referral results to ensure good turnaround time and delivery
to accurate facilities as per the Quality Objectives of the laboratories.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Ensure Quality
review of results and dispatch to the facilities in a timely manner

·       
Understand
the integrated results dispatch system for COVID-19

·       
Train
points of contacts to print COVID-19 results according to standard operating to
ensure timely dispatch of all results.

·       
Verify
all result uploads against request forms by the requesting officer and the
accuracy of patient information, sample details.

·       
Sort all
health facilities Envelopes by Hub and package all Results in Hub envelopes as
per Hub Details.

·       
Synchronise
COVID-19 results from the different requesting facilities and compile them according
to the dispatch destination and package them according minimise time and cost

·       
Coordinate
with the logistics officer to ensure that results and collection materials to
the same facilities are combined to minimise cost

·       
Ensure
Filing and Completion of Request forms according to Standard Operating procedures
for ease of future reference.

Manage all results
related queries and provide timely Customer feedback.

·       
Attend
to complaints, and maintain a record of customer requests, suggestion,
questions and complaints related to COVID-19 results

·       
Document
all Customer requests and complaints as per the Customer Complaints and Resolution
standard procedures.

·       
Release
Results for facilities that require Results on phone and document in the Result
release record.

·       
Initiate
corrective action for all Non-conformities that are identified at pre and Post analytical
stages and forward them to the respective Quality desks for troubleshooting and
root cause analysis.

·       
Ensure
that the customer complaint is closed and feedback is given and documented together
with Quality officer, Implement the Preventive actions that are derived from occurrences
at this Post Analytical Stage.

Monitor the Sample
Transportation and the update of the sample tracking module

·       
Log into
the hub operations module every now and to monitor sample transportation

·       
Troubleshoot
sample transportation bottlenecks

·       
Troubleshoot
and find root cause analysis for samples that have not reached the testing laboratories

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a university Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology/
Laboratory Sciences or BioStatistics, computer science, information technology
or related field, Knowledge of information systems design,

·       
Good
interpersonal and communication skills,

·       
Analytical
and critical thinking

·       
Highly
innovative and creative

·       
Computer
literate, flexible and reliable, self-driven, positive view on timelines and
people oriented.
