Business Intelligence and Research Manager – Uganda Telecom

Position: Business Intelligence and Research Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
o To develop the strategy, marketing plan and budget in collaboration with the Segments, Brand and Product Development Sections
o To develop business cases for marketing projects (product and service; promotions] in line with company expectations and meeting the relevant regulatory requirements
o To undertake competitive analysis to ensure effective strategic response to competitor activity in the market
o To monitor and analyse data from the IN, Billing & the Switch for consistency and recommending any corrective action where necessary
o To manage continuous research projects like quarterly brand tracking, quarterly customer satisfaction index research, retail audit studies and ad-hoc research projects
o To analyse relevant factors such as pricing, cost, technology and competitive offering so as to aid in strategic decision making
o To develop pricing simulations and models and appropriately select and justify various pricing scenarios to ensure market share growth
o To analyse and justify promotional effectiveness
o To present weekly, monthly and annual reports related to the marketing business performance
o Design simulation models to ensure that a competitive edge is maintained. This involves manipulating data with different scenarios for a given market strategy with the underlying principle of minimizing revenue cannibalization
o As custodian of the company’s price tariff plans, carry out all the pricing of the services and products offered to the customer, ensure that the tariff plans offered are both competitive and attractive to Uganda telecom customers without compromising on the company’s set targets and hence revenues
o Participate in the design and implementation of market intelligence research and analytical projects that help management fulfill strategic business operations and drive increased conversion & retention at targeted areas of the lifecycle funnel
o Provide analytical support to the department, analyzing weekly, monthly, yearly and ad hoc subscriber and marketing campaign data
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Applicants must have
o B.A. in Business, Economics, or Statistics or Marketing/Commerce
o A minimum of four years’ experience as a market analyst in a sub-multi-product commercial enterprise of which 2 years should preferably be experience in developing price stimulation models in a busy, fast posed multi Product Company.
o 3-4 years’ experience in market research, strategic insights, analytics, pricing
o Strong Excel and Power point skills a must
