Job Role: To develop, review and ensure the implementation of communications and monitoring and evaluation systems and coordinate the documentation and sharing of information and knowledge in line with Accountability Learning and Planning Systems and other organizational policies and procedures.

Key Results Areas

·         Provide overall leadership to the organization in the development of monitoring and evaluation systems and processes for programs and projects in line with ActionAid International M&E requirements, Global Monitoring Framework, ActionAid Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) to development, and the Country Strategy Paper.
·         Develop and roll out ActionAid International Uganda Communications Strategy and monitor its implementation in line with national and international six-year strategy priorities.
·         Develop, review information and knowledge systems; and manage shared content with both internal and external stakeholders in line with open information policy and other organizational policies and procedures.
·         Develop, lead the implementation, monitoring of and reporting on the ActionAid International Uganda-Corporate systems and strategy of knowledge management in line with ActionAid International Uganda.
·         Monitor and enforce ActionAid International Uganda’s staff and partners compliance to Accountability learning & Planning System requirements.
·         Lead and provide technical assistance in documentation and reporting on selected case stories and models and integration of lessons learnt into future programming.
·         Liaise with programmes, policy, fundraising and sponsorship departments to plan, develop, roll out and monitor campaigns, documentation, brand profiling to increase public awareness, donor base, advocacy, and influence attitudes and behaviors.
·         Build the capacity of staff and partners in development and implementation of the Communications Strategy and Monitoring & Evaluation systems in line with the organizational strategy and policies.
·         Maintain and uphold ActionAid International Uganda’s standard of documentation, branding and profiling of ActionAid Uganda in line with international priorities to deepen our positioning as a ‘challenger brand’ in ending poverty and injustice.
·         Manage the performance, development, and motivation of staff in the unit in line with Human Resources policy.
Qualifications & Experience
·         An honours degree in either Development Studies, or Mass Communication, or Social Sciences or related discipline.
·         Master’s Degree in related fields will be added advantage.
·         A Post-graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation or Project Planning and Management or Mass Communication is desirable.
·         At least 3-5 years relevant experience from a reputable organization
·         Knowledge of: Human Rights Based Approach to Development and Participatory methodologies and approaches is desirable.
