The National Curriculum Development Centre is a corporate body under the Ministry of Education and Sports. It is responsible for inter-alia development of curricula and related materials for various level of education (i.e. Pre- Primary, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary), organizing capacity building courses for stakeholders on curricula and matters related to curriculum.
Research and Evaluation Department
Responsible to: Head of Department, Research and Evaluation
Main purpose of the job: Conducting research and evaluation studies on curricula and educational programmes
Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Evaluating the effectiveness of the instructional methods and techniques used in schools.
·         Working with subject specialists in evaluating curricula in use.
·         Training panel members in research methods and techniques.
·         Analysing data and producing research reports for use in curriculum planning and management.
·         Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department
Qualifications
·         Age: 30- 45 years Scale: CD 4 A
·         Masters degree in Statistics or Social Research related disciplines.
·         A PhD in a related field is a prerequisite
·         He/she must have proven academic skills in social trends demographic trends, quantitative and qualitative research methods and consultation methods.
·         Strong social research and numerical skills and a determination to explore issues thoroughly.
·         Must be able to pay meticulous attention to detail and have strong analytical skills
·         Ability to work well in a team in a professional manner and with professional attitude.
Experience: A minimum of five years working experience in research related environment
