Job Summary: The job Holder will be responsible for
coordinating Save the Children in Uganda’s DM&E efforts in the region to
ensure high quality programming for children. In close collaboration with the
national DME Advisor and the Director, he/she will be coordinating the
implementation of strategies to ensure monitoring and evaluation of the
programs and the timely dissemination of lessons learnt; and will work closely
with the Project Specialists to develop a plan to monitor and evaluate the
efficiency, effectiveness and performance of all Save the Children programmes
in the region. The Specialist may be called upon as and when necessary to
support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelors’ Degree in Social Sciences, Social work
and Social administration, Development Studies, Education or any relevant
field with M&E as a course. Post Graduate training in Project Planning
& Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Community Development &
Research is of added advantage. - At least 4 years in social or operational research, research
methods, development and management, M&E, in INGOs. Experience or
research in MNCH health, nutrition, HIV/ AIDS, and livelihoods is a must. - Working knowledge of participatory research methods, qualitative
and quantitative analysis and application of computer data management
packages and hands on experiences in setting up and managing M&E
systems, preferably in NGO setting. - Experience of working with local partners and District Local
Government in Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education,
HIV/AIDS or Child Protection program delivery as may be applicable to the
job. - Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations
and perform effectively as a member of a team. - Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas,
occasionally under strenuous conditions. - Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
- Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of
humanitarian responses. - Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in
an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and
cultures - Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as
necessary. - Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including
influencing, negotiation and coaching - Excellent time management and planning capacity
- Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of
humanitarian responses.
