Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Test and repair of IT and Communication
equipment; MSA, Servers, desktop computers, laptops, printers, switches,
plotters, digital senders, ID machines , VHF Radio and Modems. - Troubleshoot and resolve integrated
circuit, microchip, semi-conductor technology and repair of faulty
components on PCB boards and motherboards. - Upgrade hardware on all IT equipments.
- Provide support to staff support unit
and users in regards hardware & software issues, clients and servers
and other IT related issues and problems. - Maintain functional specifications for
computer hardware and all application systems while performing the
business continuity task of data recovery if required. - Install and maintain CCTV surveillance and
monitoring systems. - Making fresh installations to new and
existing computer model within the UN’s legitimate working software i.e.
Operating systems, MS Office Suite, Acrobat, Anti-virus and all licensed
software and creating and image thereafter. - Collaborate with the warehouse in
readying computers, servers to be issued to new or existing users or units
and ensuring that they are up-to-date with application software and hardware. - Install new fiber cable lines and
maintain them accordingly including evaluating and repairing them. - Test circuits and components of malfunctioning
telecommunications such as satellite modems, VHF and HF equipment and
isolate problems and resolve them as necessary. - Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Secondary school level, with completion
of vocational training in Computer systems A+ certification, hardware and
software repair certification or its equivalent. - At least (5) Five years of experience in
the implementation and maintenance of computer systems and hardware. - Strong understanding of How to setup and
administer VTC Calls and troubleshoot both ISDN and IP VTC issues.
Personal Competencies:
Professionalism: Hands-on
training and excellent troubleshooting skills. Ability to perform with minimal
supervision whilst working under pressure and often times difficult and
demanding conditions.

communication skills particularly the ability to understand the duties & responsibilities
as assigned by the Supervisor, and also ability to relay technical messages and
