Job Summary: The Fire Officer will supply the
airports with fire, search, marine and rescue services in case of an accident
or disaster as need be.

Key Result Areas:
- Plan,
organise and establish fire protection activities. - Prepare
and establish prescribed operational schedules and procedures for the
section. - Prepare
fire incident drills, fire extinguishers and planning reports. - Establish
procedures, plans and take charge of fire fighting training programmes,
pre-fire drilling, rescue operations and fire prevention activities. - Prepare
for and conduct Fire prevention first aid and fire appliance
demonstrations for personnel using Uganda Airport facilities. - Establish
auxiliary fire brigade teams. - Prepare
section’s financial budget. - Respond
to aircraft crash / fire alarms and related emergencies. - Supervise
subordinate staff in the section and also ensure they are nurtured and
grow.
Skills & Experience:
- A
good relevant degree. - 12
years working experience, 5 of which should be at senior officer level or
2 years as deputy fire officer level in a reputable organisation. - Officer
command course from a recognised Fire Training School. - Training
and leadership in leadership of fire units. - Repair
and maintenance skills in different fire fighting vehicles and equipment. - Computer
literacy.
