RHU:
(RHU) is a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF),
and its core mandate is to promote high quality, high impact and gender
sensitive Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights information and services
through capacity building, specialized service delivery, issue specific
advocacy and strategic partnerships. It is a volunteer owned and led
organization, with the volunteer body having a distinct role to play in
governance, but not in actual project management and implementation.
Summary: The Accounts
Assistant will be responsible for the maintenance of Project Accounts,
Logistics and supplies in line with the project funding agreement/financial
procedures in line with the vision of Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The
assistant will verify all project payments to ensure accuracy, correctness
and compliance to set procedures - Write
and maintain accurate books of accounts - Ensure
regular budget follow-up and budget revisions when necessary - Prepare
timely periodic financial reports - Maintain
logistical and stores record according to RHU guidelines - Plan,
monitor and budget for commodity requirements and purchasing, and
commodity distribution - Prepare
payroll for staff in the Organization - Perform
any other professional duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Skills and Experience:
- A
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance from a recognized Institution or
professional qualifications e.g. ACCA, ACPA(U) Understanding of logistical
operations - Previous NGO experience of not less than 3 years will be an
added advantage Excellent communication, Organizational and Interpersonal
skills in regard to office administration - Knowledge
and use of Navision Accounting Software will be of great advantage.

Communications Technology, Problem solving and Team Work; Focused on quality
and standards, and ethics and integrity, Ability to work under pressure while
meeting strict deadlines with minimum supervision
