The Public Procurement and
Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) is established under the PPDA Act
No.1 of 2003 to formulate policies and regulate procurement and disposal
practices in respect of all procuring and disposing entities which include
Central Government Ministries and Departments, Local Governments, State
Enterprises, Constitutional and Statutory Bodies and Post Primary Training
Institutions.

Summary: The Officer
Training and Capacity Building will be responsible for Capacity Building Initiatives
of the Authority in line with the Corporate Plan and Capacity Building Strategy
and offer PPDA clients with support regarding the public procurement and
disposal law, regulations and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare
departmental annual and activity work plans and budgets for conduct of
capacity building activities, for submission to the respective supervisor
for review. - Participate
in carrying out capacity needs assessment for stakeholders - Prepare
training materials for training different stakeholders in the public and
private sectors. - Prepare
activity, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. - Follow
up on capacity building requests to ensure timely implementation. - Facilitate
during sensitisation and hands-on exercises. - Conduct
Monitoring and Evaluation of
capacity building activities of the Authority; - Any
other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- The
candidate should posses an Honours degree in Procurement, Economics, Business
Administration, Commerce, Education from a recognised University - At
least three ( 3) years experience
in procurement practice from a reputable organisation or public sector - Professional
qualification in procurement is a requirement - Possession
of Training of trainers (TOT) certificate is an added advantage

knowledge of the public procurement regulatory framework and disposal
systems in Uganda - Good
knowledge of computer management and applications - High
