Salary: GBP. 21,341 – 30,406
net per annum (The net is a take home, Oxfam will pay any tax and social
security liabilities of the post holder, in relation to employment with Oxfam,
in additional to benefits)
Job Summary: The Country
Funding Director will work closely with the funding team at the Regional Centre
in Nairobi, you will build on the existing strategy to deliver financing for
the programme deliverables OGB has committed to in the Joint Country Strategy
(JCAS).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The job holder will work with the Senior
    Programme Management Team to develop long-term development and emergency
    relief intervention proposals that identify with and develop our
    relationships with quality donors and, assist the Country Programme in
    preparing concept notes and proposal for emergency and relief
    intervention, should the need arise.
  • The country Funding Coordinator will take
    the lead in managing the funding efforts of the Programme, by ensuring
    high-quality, accurate and timely reporting.
  • You will work closely with the finance
    team to ensure contracts’ management systems are efficiently and
    accurately maintained in a timely manner through coaching, training and
    supporting them in matters pertaining to funding and donor contract
    management.
  • Maintain positive working relationships
    with local and international donor agencies and represent Oxfam to the
    donor community.
  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Team,
    you will also be involved in shaping our programme strategies and advocacy
    efforts in the country programs. 
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The candidates should possess a background
    in fundraising, and with sound understanding of securing and managing
    funds from institutional donors and UN agencies.
  • Excellent writing, project cycle
    management and research skills;
  • Exhibit confidence and pro-activeness in donor
    contracts management.
  • Significant funding/fundraising experience
    with donors like ECHO, DfiD, SIDA, Irish Aid and the UN system and,
    experience in communications or programme development.
  • Be a commendable team player, with an
    optimistic outlook and real belief in what we’re trying to achieve here at
    Oxfam.
  • Good at networking and influencing;
    representing Oxfam to the donor community.
  • Exhibit cultural diversity i.e. sensitivity
    to cultural differences and able to travel on short visits at short
    notice.
