Job Summary: The Desktop Support Engineer role is to provide
support and maintenance within the organization’s Desktop Computing
environment. This includes: installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and
upgrading software on supported devices (Laptops, Desktop, Printers, Scanners,
IP Phones, Projects, and Video Conferencing). The engineer is expected to use a
combination of remote and physical means to support end users and ensure
closure of incidents within SLA targets
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. System/Application/Network
Support Requirement:
  • Ensure desktop
    computers are connected to Active Directory, file servers, email servers,
    application servers, etc.
  • Diagnose and quickly
    resolve a wide range of Windows applications and networking problems to
    help minimize downtime
  • Troubleshooting
    network connectivity in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Requesting and
    coordinating vendor support
  • Install, upgrade,
    support and troubleshoot computer hardware and any 
2. Other authorized peripheral
equipment
  • Performs general
    preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, printers and any
    other authorized peripheral equipment
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The candidate should possess
    good working technical knowledge of current Internet technologies and
    protocols like DNS DHCP, TCP/IP, Active Directory, 
  • Ability to operate
    tools, components and peripheral accessories. 
  • Windows XP, Windows 7,
    Windows 8 experience
  • Microsoft Office 2007,
    Office 2010, 2013 experience 
  • Self-confidence and
    interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem
    solving skills
  • Good communication
    (both verbal and written) skills
  • Able to operate with
    minimal supervision
  • Able to manage time
    effectively, set priorities appropriately, schedule calls
