About ULA:
Uganda
Land Alliance is a consortium of International and National NGO’s and
Individuals focusing on land, promotion of land rights and protecting the
interests of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized through “Enhancing
civic participation in land governance and resource management country wide.”
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Offer overall
    leadership in terms of planning and management of the Land rights
    Information Centre and ensure that the overall program goals are met
  • Lead and
    support the implementation of tasked projects in order to 
     achieve the intended objectives and outcomes in a cost effective and
    sustainable manner as stipulated in the project designs.
  • Lead the
    development of projects and Programs for the Land rights Information
    Centre
  • Lead the
    human resource, administration, procurement and finance management
    function at the Land Rights Centre.
  • Ensure the
    establishment of an effective M&E and learning system at the Land
    Rights Information Centre
  • Liaise with
    the Senior Management Team to ensure effective and efficient
    implementation of ULA programs and projects.
  • Ensure that
    cross cutting themes such as Gender, HIV&AIDS, Climate Change form
    part and parcel of ULA’s programming.
  • Develop
    viable linkages for advocacy, standardization and up scaling of ULA work,
    with Local governments, non-governmental institutions and development
    partners.
  • Engage in
    broader ULA programme and administration initiatives like fundraising
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant
    should hold a Bachelors Degree in the humanities. a post Graduate
    qualification in management, monitoring and Evaluation or project planning
    and management is an added advantage. Knowledge in conflict resolution and
    transformation.
  • At least five
    years of hands on experience in similar positions,
  • Experience in
    team building and staff capacity building
  • Experience in
    project delivery and accountability mechanisms
  • Knowledge in
    computer packages is a must Experience in movement building and management
    is desirable.
  • Strong
    networking, team work and management skills
  • Ability to
    work under pressure in diverse environments
  • Ability to
    represent and articulate the organization’s philosophy at various fora
  • At least 3
    years experience in monitoring and evaluation of advocacy projects
  • Demonstrable
    effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare
    plans, reports and proposals.
  • Effective
    public relations and public speaking skills, research and program
    development skills
  • Knowledge of
    computer is required
