Job Summary: The Head of
Enterprise Banking will steer the Enterprise Department (comprising of
Corporate and SME business) to achieve and exceed Business goals through a
vigorous Business Development and Relationship Management strategy that is
aligned with the overall Bank mission.
Enterprise Banking will steer the Enterprise Department (comprising of

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Offer
strategic leadership to the Enterprise department and guide all its
activities to support the Bank’s growth strategies and achieve projected
business goals - Lead
the Enterprise team in scanning and structuring the market to recruit,
nature and sustain new quality enterprise relationships and drive
profitable balance sheet growth - Drive
vigorous sales process management; from prospecting to closure so as to
ensure a health pipe-line business with the aim of attaining continuity
and meeting agreed business growth objectives across all product and
client segments. - Structure
and manage the Business Centre network: resources organization, opening of
Business Centre, in coordination with other departments (marketing for
market studies, projects and Admin). - Take
lead in the creation of customer insight through on-going portfolio
analysis and formulation of focused and value-driven customer relationship
management strategies - Drive
a culture of great service and quality relationship management in order to
retain and develop customers, and expand the Bank’s wallet-share by
driving product-bundle uptake. - Actively
advise on the negotiation and structuring of business deals through the
sales process with the aim of attaining value for the client, while
protecting the business interests of Bank of Africa. - Entrench
inter-departmental collaboration & work hand-in-hand with other
stakeholders to implement timely and efficient preparation of quality
credit proposals, & drive turn-around time to meet the Bank’s promise
to customers. - Intuitively
monitor the business portfolio to ensure vigilant Covenants and Arrears Management in line with BOA
policies in order to spot early-attention areas – the objective is to
maintain the loan portfolio’s NPA percentage within agreed parameters and
ensure customers meet the contractual obligations to the Bank - Keenly
monitor the market and industry trends, and competitor behavior to gather
business intelligence to advise and shape management response and the
actions of the Enterprise team to effective manage opportunities and
threats to maximize business performance - Manage
motivate and develop the Enterprise team through rigorous performance
management, coaching, mentoring and learning interventions to create a
team able to deliver the Enterprise mission. - Perform
any other tasks as assigned by the General Manager –Business Development.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- The
Head of Enterprise Banking must possess a Masters’ Degree in Business,
Finance, Banking, Marketing or a related field is desirable - Additional
professional qualifications in Finance or Marketing or related field e.g.
ACCA, CFA, CIMA, CPA desirable - At
least eight years’ experience in Finance related Business Development
dealing with Corporates and SME’s - Excellent
track record in Direct Selling, Sales Management and Relationship
Management - Good
understanding and grasp of industrial and national economic trends - Proven
Leadership and people management skills - Solid
and proven credit risk management, and advanced facility structuring and
negotiation skills - Excellent
strategic and conceptual skills, along with strong business and financial
acumen - Strong
Customer inclination, with a strong sense for client behavior - Strong
decision-making, conflict resolution and problem solving skills - Very
strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills - Excellent
team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build
internal and external networks - Ability
to work under pressure, and exercise excellent judgment
