About URBRA:
The Uganda Retirement Benefits
Regulatory Authority manages retirement plans for Uganda’s public
workforce by serving as the fiduciary stewards of the contributions and
disbursements of the pension trust funds. In partnership with the state’s
public employers, we help ensure that they can offer their employees a
comprehensive retirement plan that is responsive to their needs and is
equitable to all stakeholders.
Regulatory Authority manages retirement plans for Uganda’s public

URBA’s primary mandates
include;
include;
- Regulate
the establishment, management and operation of retirement benefits schemes
in Uganda in both private and public sector - Supervise
institutions which provide retirement benefits products and services - Protect
the interest of member and beneficiaries of retirement benefits schemes - Promote
the development of the retirement benefits sector - Provide
for licensing for custodians, trustees, administration and fund managers
of retirement benefits schemes, the appointment of inspectors and interim
administrators.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply
the established regulations and guidelines in the implementation of the
Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Act 2011 - Implement
the objectives of the supervision and inspection work plan using a
risk-based approach - Plan
and schedule supervision and inspection visits according to set targets - Lead
the on-site and off-site supervision and inspection exercises - Recognize
breaches and work with the organizations to develop performance
improvement plans to address breaches - Elevate
issues for further investigation where necessary - Prepare
and present supervision and inspection reports - Maintain
close follow up and ensure to resolve compliance issues within the set
time frame - Supervise
and monitor the process of data collection from the clients ensure proper
maintenance of the records obtained - Perform
any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
Senior Supervision Officer must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial
Science, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Studies or Statistics - A
Master’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Commerce,
Business Studies or Statistics will be an added advantage - At
least three years working experience in supervision and compliance
