Job Summary: The Head of
Risk will be responsible for facilitating the execution of Enterprise Risk
Management (ERM) processes and infrastructure as a key enabler to achieving the
business objectives of the Bank sustainably.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Integrate
risk management within the strategy development process - Develop
and communicate risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits of
the Bank - Gradually
monitor the Bank’s critical risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
to respond to these risks - Establish,
communicate and facilitate the use of appropriate ERM methodologies, tools
and techniques to effectively manage the risks of the Bank - Work
hand in hand with business units to establish, maintain and continuously
improve risk management capabilities and support business sustainability - Facilitate
enterprise-wide risk assessments and monitor priority risks across the
Bank - Implement
appropriate risk reporting to the Executive Committee, Board and Senior
Management - Ensure
effective alignment between the ERM process, internal audit and risk
financing - Initiate
regular risk management education and training across the Bank - Assist
the Directorate, Executive Committee, and the Assets and Liabilities
Committee with capital and resource allocation decisions - Offer
an independent view regarding proposed business plans and transactions - Develop
project risk management capabilities within the Bank - Develop
and implement an IT Risk strategy to support ERM - Determine
the risk-bearing capacity of the Bank and advise on self-insurance
portfolio options as in keeping with risk management strategy, including
financing options for the cost of risk retention. - Perform
any other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a Bachelors’ degree in a Business, Finance,
Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting or other quantitative
fields - An
additional Masters’ Degree or Professional Qualifications in relevant
fields e.g. finance, ICT security, banking is desirable - At
least eight years’ experience in Business (preferably Banking); 3 of which
should be at senior management level - Strong
grasp of ERM principles and philosophy - Computer
literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Spread-sheets, Word,
and PowerPoint - Solid
grasp and interpretation of industrial and national economic trends - Strong
strategic and conceptual skills - Proven
Leadership and people management skills - Strong
Customer centricity - Solid
business acumen and financial skills - Excellent
analytical and problem solving skills - Strong
decision-making, conflict resolution and problem solving skills - Excellent
presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills in English,
French is desirable - Good
team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build
internal and external networks - Possess
the ability to work under pressure, and exercise excellent judgment
