finalized.

Job Summary: The Coordinator will be responsible for the development
and coordinating leadership of the Africa Rift Lakes Region (ARLR) Programme.

ecosystem degradation. The position will be responsible for the development of
integrated programmes as detailed in the Programme Document in close
collaboration with thematic leaders and the relevant country offices.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the
focal person in charge of coordinating the implementation of the ARLR
Programme Document, the Coordinator’s principal duty will be to promote
the effective implementation of the ARL Programme Document within the
context of the ESARPO and CARPO Conservation Strategies and associated
Country Action Plans (CAPs). - The ARLR
Coordinator will develop, coordinate, supervise and support the
implementation of Landscape programmes in accordance with the objectives
and targets as defined in the ARLR Programme Document. - Under the
general guidance of the ESARPO Conservation Director and in collaboration
with the relevant Country Directors and within the overall framework of
the ARLR Programme Document, undertake the identification and development
of relevant programmes - Catalyze
conservation delivery at a landscape-level through the effective
coordination, knowledge sharing and joint planning between the relevant
countries that are key to the implementation of the ARLR Programme
Document
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant should possess a minimum of ten years’ experience in the
development and implementation of large-scale conservation programmes - Possess
an advanced university degree in natural resources, forestry or water
resources management - Good
understanding and knowledge of the relevant conservation issues and
institutional agencies in the sub-region is a critical requirement - S/he must
have technical proficiency in either forestry, freshwater or integrated
natural resource management. Expertise in climate change adaptation will
have significant added value - Proven
commitment to conservation. - Demonstrable
leadership skills – dynamic, excellent inter-personal skills, integrity
and motivation.
The applicant must possess at least five years’ experience in and proven
ability to manage, mentor and develop multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural
teams and individuals. - Good
strategic planning, programme management, problem solving and
organisational skills. - At least
five years of project management experience including budget development
and oversight. - Good
understanding of funding agencies’ contract/grant compliance requirements
