About New Vision:
The Vision Group incorporated as the New Vision Printing &
Publishing Company Limited (NVPPCL), started business in March 1986. It is a
multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet publishing,
television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and
distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an
expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).
Job Summary: The Graphics Editor is to manage and manipulate
video footage and animations technology to create motion graphics elements and
projects for television purpose.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read, Interpret and develop storyboards to
    be used as assigned.
  • Edit video and manage footage to be used
    in motion projects.
  • Intuitively select the best combination of
    photography, performance, consistency and timing for dramatic and
    entertainment motion projects.
  • Manage and select fonts for use in
    projects.
  • Manipulate the pictures/videos to create a
    balance and correct the colour.
  • Add sound and sound effects to enhance the
    motion project.
  • Perform any other duties and
    responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Graphics Editor.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • The Senior Graphics
    Editor should hold a Diploma in Graphics Design and Industrial Fine Art
  • At least two years’
    experience in television production or a related field.
  • Extensive exposure and
    understanding of the animation process.
  • Possess the ability to
    manipulate Graphics software’s with a bias of Adobe edit suite, and 3D
    software e.g. Cinema 4D.
  • Knowledge of all
    Production formats of video.
  • Understanding of all
    the Basic techniques of television production
  • Possess the ability to
    translate written material into Television motion graphics.
  • Ability to work
    independently and meet deadlines
