rigorous evaluation methodologies. The purpose of this position is to assist
IDinsight with the administration and management of a health-records and survey
based evaluation, assessing the impact of creating Family Clinic Days (FCDs) on
retention of pediatric and adolescent HIV patients in care.

For the Field Supervisor to be successful, he or she must have
experience in data collection, survey design, supervision, and
administrative/logistical management. The Field Supervisor must be comfortable
interacting with patients and healthcare practitioners and working in close
collaboration with district health officers and local government officials.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Piloting:
- Collecting data from health records using
cameras and data collection forms - Matching patient records within a facility
- Identifying and analyzing data quality
issues at health facilities - Assisting in the design of a final data
collection strategy - Finding and traveling to remote health
facilities - Communicating with health facility workers
and supervisors
2. Survey Design:
- Thoroughly understand and adhere to study
protocol - Test and refine survey instruments
- Assist in translations (English and
Luganda, Acholi, Lugisu, or Lugbara) - Explain challenges to research protocol
faced in the field and suggest ways to overcome them
3. Supervision:
- Assist in staff training
- Supervise a team of 5-6 field staff
- Conduct regular field visits to health
facilities to oversee data collection - Ensure quality data collection by checking
surveys - Conduct regular audits of enumerator work
and completed surveys
4. Logistics:
- One-on-one interactions with health
facility managers to explain the study - Secure permissions from local governments
to conduct study - Communicate (in English) regularly with
Associate - Manage the travel logistics of the team
while in the field, including organizing drop-off and end-of-day meet-up
points, driving the team from one location to the next, and locating
health facilities and government offices
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Field Supervisor must hold a good University
graduate - Three or more years’ survey work
experience, with at least one year in a managerial role - Extremely well-organized and
self-motivated - Fluency in English required; must be able
to understand and explain complicated concepts in English - Fluency in Acholi, Luganda, Lugisu, or
Lugbara - Knowledge of public healthcare facilities,
especially health records - Rural field work, preferably with
knowledge of the Northern, Central, or Eastern Regions - Survey data collection and coordination
skills - Experience working with local governments
- Working with health administrative records
and conducting patient exit interviews - Problem-solving and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Initiative, independence, and management
ability - Possess the ability to carefully follow
specific written protocols - Proficiency in Microsoft Word
