About HEPS:
HEPS-Uganda is an

objective of HEPS-Uganda’s programmes and activities for the period of the

plan to implement a social accountability project in 4 districts (Lira,
Nakaseke, Otuke, Gulu) and at national level.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Train community structures (VHTs, HUMCs) as per Set Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP’s) - Implement activities of the project as per agreed upon plan of
action and the set Standard operating procedures (SOP’s) - Organize and facilitate dialogue meetings and action plans using
tools as per set Standard operating procedures (SOP’s) - Guarantee that the interests, demands and preferences of
marginalized members at the community, particularly Women, Children, the
elderly, the disabled and People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs) are taken
into account in every aspect of the project implementation process. - Collect most significant change stories throughout the life of the
project with guidance from the Monitoring &Evaluation Learning
officer. - Actively participate in the selection of most significant change
stories - Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or
any other assigned officer of HEPS Uganda
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the DFID HEPS Project must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in social work and administration, community development or any relevant
academic qualifications - A minimum of three years’ experience in participatory,
community-driven facilitation skills in local language (Luo for Northern
and Luganda for Nakaseke) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the project
area’s local language and in - English
- Excellent mobilisation skills
- Possess the ability to travel extensively, work and live in remote
and hard to reach areas. - Past experience directly implementing employing a distinct social
accountability methodology - Civic empowerment skills will be desired
- Strong verbal, presentation and participatory facilitation skills in
English - Computer literacy skills
- Ability to type a document or report in Word and use basic formulas
in excel - In depth knowledge of project districts will be highly desired
- Motor bike riding license/driving permit.
