Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the maintenance and projects
function for the operation, including metallurgical plant and mobile
equipment maintenance. - In charge of the engineering function cost
control and budget planning. - Conception, implementation and management
of process improvement initiatives to achieve higher plant productivities
and improved operational efficiencies. - Responsible for Breakdown management.
- Providing recommendations for improved
fixed plant and mobile equipment maintenance. - Responsible for the management of the
engineering maintenance team including providing mentoring to ensure
continuous team development. - Ensuring that all maintenance functions
are carried out in compliance with the relevant legal statutes and the
enforcement of the operation’s safety standards. - Supervision of the installation of new
equipment. - Oversee the design and manufacture of new
plant equipment. - Planning and supervision of all new
projects and management of engineering contractors on site.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant must be an Apprentice
trained class 1 fitter or fitter and turner with at least ten years’ post
qualification experience in a mining or heavy manufacturing environment. - At least five years’ experience as
Maintenance Superintendent/Foreman. - Must be willing to be hands on in dealing
with maintenance issues. - Past experience in working in remote
locations in Africa, though not a prerequisite, will be an added
advantage. - Prior experience with mobile fleet
maintenance.
