About UTCC:

The Uganda Trypanosomiasis Control Council (UTCC) was established by an
Act of Parliament in 1992 (Ch 211) as a semi-autonomous body charged with the
responsibility of controlling Tsetse and Trypanosomiasis in Uganda with a view
of enhancing human health and agricultural production so as to contribute
towards the improvement of the standard of living of Ugandans.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 

  • Carry out periodic field data collection,
    analysis, and update of COCTU data base.
  • From time to time provide information on
    tsetse and trypanosomiasis data to different interested stakeholders.
  • Responsible for management and updating of
    COCTU website
  • Technically support the implementation of
    institutional IT policy.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 

  • The Data / Information Technology
    Assistant should be a holder of a degree in Information Technology or
    Computer Science from a recognized University
  • Prior exposure and experience in raw data
    capture, analysis and storage.
  • Hands-on experience with designing and
    implementation of institutional Database Management Systems (DBMS).
