About STRYDE Project:
TechnoServe is implementing the second phase of Strengthening Rural
Youth Development through Enterprise Program (STRYDE), a regional youth
enterprise development program designed to enable 48,000 rural youth aged 18 to
30 in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania, have a more successful transition
into economically independent adulthood, increasing their opportunity, ability
and motivation to engage in income-generating activities. A key strategy of the
program is to deliver indirect training to the youth through partners such as
Vocational Training Institutions.
Job Summary:  The Country Partnership Manager will work
closely with the program team in implementation of the project’s Sustain,
Strengthen and Learn components and achievement of part of the project’s goal
to train 13,000 youth to increase their productive economic engagement in
Uganda, over a period of 5 years. S/he will be responsible for engagement,
supervision and monitoring quality implementation of key partners and manage
the aftercare component of the program.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
1. Partnership Management:
  • Map the capabilities of potential
    partners, and develop systems and tools for their selection
  • Create incentive packages to encourage
    adoption of STRYDE trainings, present value propositions (e.g. through
    partner sensitization workshops) to the potential partners and secure
    their commitment to participate in the program
  • Establish minimum STRYDE curriculum
    adoption criteria
  • Co-create work plan with partners and
    maintain activity budget
  • Build partner’s internal capacity to
    deliver the program trainings through ToT and refreshers
  • Supervise and support partners to ensure
    the delivery of technical training packages is of high quality, is
    appropriate to the local context, and is effectively reaching participants
2. Aftercare Management:
  • Identify and engage suitable private and
    public sector partners who can provide opportunities for the youth such
    as; access to finance, employment, micro-franchising and skills building
  • Work closely with the various Business
    Advisors and Business Counsellors in the various regions to coordinate in
    opportunity identification at various levels and implementation of partner
    related activities at the county and sub-county levels
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a good degree in
    business or other relevant field is required
  • At least three years’ experience working
    with private sector in a role involved with multi-stakeholder engagement,
    client relations or other similar work
  • Entrepreneurial ability to
    innovate/design, package and promote new concepts desired
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and
    written communication skills a must
  • Possess the ability to develop
    well-written, cohesive analyses and reports
  • Proven ability and experience working
    independently will be an added advantage
  • Willingness to travel to remote rural
    locations extensively, while based in Kampala.
  • Problem solving skills are a must.
