selling affordable, high-impact products like basic medicines, fortified foods,

less than a disruptive reinvention of distribution in emerging markets, through
networks of franchised micro-entrepreneurs who leverage Living Goods’ brand,
buying power and mobile marketing tools to deliver vital products at accessible
prices to the people who need them most. By combining the best practices from
the worlds of micro-enterprise, franchising and public health, Living Goods is
creating a fully sustainable system to improve the health, and wealth, of
underserved communities.
Living Goods supports a network of over 600 micro-entrepreneurs in
Uganda who teach families in their communities how to improve health and
well-being while selling affordable, high-impact products like basic medicines,
fortified foods, water filters, clean cook-stoves, and solar lights.
Job Summary: As part of the
Branch Management Team, you will play a key role in supporting Community Health
Promoters (CHPs) to deliver high quality health care to their communities and
generate sales of critical products.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
1. Agent Support and Motivation:
  • Motivate agents to achieve health and
    sales targets. Work to support strong performers, to increase effectiveness
    of medium performers, and increase or remove poor performers.
  • Ensure all agents are maintaining target
    inventory levels month to month.
  • Ensure all agents know and follow health
    protocols (esp. diagnosis and treatment).
  • Implement marketing and promotional
    efforts to support agents sales goals.
  • Support all agents to ensure that they are
    in compliance with regulations set by health authorities including
    compliance with standard treatment guidelines.
2. Financial Management: Oversee branch financial operations
and ensure that the books balance:  cash
matches sales on a daily basis.
3. Operations:
  • Ensure branch is clean, neat and welcoming
    to CHPs.
  • Manage inventory.
  • Ensure all inventory is received with
    appropriate Delivery Notes.
  • Ensure inventory is managed on a First
    in/First Out basis.
  • Ensure no stock-outs occur at the branch
    for key products.
  • Manage operations to keep costs as low as
    possible.
  • Manage relations between the implementing
    partner organizations.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • Proven success as a CHP, entrepreneur,
    business manager, or health professional.
  • The candidate should hold a Diploma in
    Nursing or health a plus.
  • Past management experience is and added
    advantage .
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive for
    results.
  • Exceptional natural leader with strong
    interpersonal skills.
  • To be successful in this role you must be
    able to motivate others, possess strong business skills, and want to be
    part of a cutting edge team that is setting the mark for a how a social
    enterprise can improve health impacts in a sustainable way. 
  • Excellent written and verbal
    communications skills, both in English and Luganda.
  • You should be flexible and willing to
    travel across Uganda and stay for some nights up-country.
  • Basic computer skills.
