States has enjoyed diplomatic relations with Uganda for over 30 years.  Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi currently heads
the U.S Mission to Uganda.  The Mission
is composed of several offices and organizations all working under the auspices
of the Embassy and at the direction of the Ambassador.

Job Summary: The
incumbent serves as the senior Locally Employed (LE) Human Resources (HR)
Specialist and advisor to the American Regional Human Resources Officer (RHRO)
and assists the Human Resources Officer (HRO) in implementing, directing and
performing all functions of the Human Resources Office which provides human
resources services to American and local employees of the Embassy, and its
associated agencies. Job holder supervises three HR staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
Note: All

  • The
    ideal candidate for the US Embassy job opportunity should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Public/Business
    Administration is required.
  • At
    least four years of progressively responsible experience in the field of
    human resources administration, plus one year of supervisory experience is
    required.
  • Level
    IV (fluent) English (speaking, reading and writing) is required. Level II
    (limited) in one local language (speaking, reading) is also required.
  • Excellent
    managerial and interpersonal skills are required. Must be tactful with
    good judgment and ability to maintain effective working relationships with
    employees and supervisors; must be personable and be able to inspire
    confidence in all staff members; must be discreet and able to handle
    sensitive information.
  • Facility
    in use of Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel) is
    required.  Keyboarding skills that
    include both speed and accuracy are required.
