About US:
Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF) is a
child rights and social justice regional grant-making organization established
in 2015. CRVPF’s goal is to provide grants, and capacity development supports
to Community Organizations and local NGO’s working at community levels with a
focus on prevention of violence against children and building adolescent’s
girl’s power. CRVPF believes the proximity of Community Organizations and local
NGO’s to children, youth, families, and communities helps to understand their
needs and to develop effective and sustainable programs. CRVPF is currently
working in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
Types of Project:
Children Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF) with
funding from Mastercard Foundation will be implementing a project to support
Community Organizations’ and local NGOs’ Capacity Development to Respond to
COVID-19 Challenges in Refugee Settlements, Host, and Slum areas. The key
objectives of the project include;

Build the institutional capacity of youth and
women-led community organizations and local NGOs operating in refugee
settlements, host communities and slum areas for Covid-19 recovery and
resilience programs
·
Support economic recovery and build the
resilience of youth and women in refugee and host communities.
·
Build the capacity of women-led organizations in
slum areas in Kampala to develop safe spaces for adolescent girls’ power
building programs.
Purpose of the
Consultancy: To build Community Organizations and local NGOs’ capacities
for effective organizational management and identifying areas that need
strengthening or further development.
The Consultant/s is/are expected:

To brief partners in collaboration with CRVPF
staff on the objectives and impact of the capacity development support program.
·
To work with partners and assist the development
of organizational capacity assessment tool (OCAT) that correspond to their
needs and capacities.
·
To guide partners in self-assessment to instill
ownership of the process and enable organizational learning and foster team
sharing.
·
To work with partners to self-assess in the
areas of governance, administration, human resource, financial management,
program, and project management.
·
To meet with partners and discuss each area to
determine where the organization sits along the continuum of implementation.
·
To utilize the self-assessment as baseline and
support partners’ capacity development initiatives by working closely with the
organization leadership and staff.
·
To support partners to recognize that
organizational development is a process, and the capacity assessment results
provide a clear organizational development road map.
Scope of work
/approach:
The consultant will work in collaboration with CRVPF,
Program Coordinator, and CRVPF partners to ensure the organizational assessment
tools are relevant to partners. The primary contact and coordinating person
will be the CRVPF Program Coordinator for capacity development support.
Deliverables:
·
Partners engagement report that assists in the
development of the tools
·
The partners’ final capacity assessment results
report with a clear road map to address the identified issues.
·
CRVPF Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool
development that addresses Community Organizations and Local NGOs’ needs.
Location and time
frames: The work mainly focuses on building the capacity development of 60
community organizations and local NGO’s partners in refugee settlements, host,
and slum communities in Uganda.
Payment arrangements:
30 % at the beginning of the work, 20% at the submission of the draft, and
50% at the submission of the final CRVPF tool.
Qualifications and Experience:
·
The applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in
Organizational Development or related fields
·
8-10 years of experience in management or
organizational development work with community organizations or local NGOs,
·
Priority is given for organizations with
previous experience in organizational assessment and capacity development work.
·
Experience in manual/tool development that
addresses the partners needs
