diseases in Africa and Southeast Asia. Malaria Consortium works with
communities, government and non-government agencies, academic institutions, and
local and international organisations to improve the health of the population
and the capacity of national health systems. It ensures that good evidence
supports delivery of effective services and evidence-based decision-making by
providing technical support for monitoring and evaluating programmes and
activities. In the recent years, the organisation has undergone significant
expansion, thus requiring robust and effective systems to meet the new
challenges.
Consortium Regional Programmes Officer will primarily offer support for project
implementation and management within the Kampala-based Africa Regional Office
(AfRO) as well as the six countries within the region. S/he will focus the
other 50% of her/his time on supporting ACCESS-SMC, a ground breaking
UNITAID-funded project, led by Malaria Consortium in partnership with six other
organisation, which is scaling up access to seasonal malaria chemoprevention to
save children’s lives across seven countries in the Sahel.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s
Degree in Public Health or related field - Past exposure and experience in project
management, financial management, technical writing/editing, and/or
communications - Strong writing, editing and presentation
skills in English - Possess the ability to work in French
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Previous business development/proposal
writing skills preferred - Skills in designing graphics and using
publishing software preferred
