Telecom IT Director will be responsible for providing leadership/direction in
the execution of Airtel Uganda’s Information Technology Strategy and the
management of its IT operations, processes, staff and information assets.
Define and deliver a cost-effective IT roadmap and organization that will
enable business objectives (i.e. CMS and RMS growth, EBITDA, market leadership,
etc.) and deliver superior +1 customer service/experience.
- The
IT Director will be charged with defining and driving the Enterprise IT
strategy for the country to ensure Business and Alignment to Group - Ensure
Stability and Reliability of Critical Systems Operations - Manage
and oversee the performance of Airtel Uganda IT partners - Responsible
for optimum and efficient utilization of the IT budget for CAPEX and OPEX
(Capital and Operational Expenditure). - Oversee
IT Cost Management - Build
a capable and motivated team at Airtel Uganda to create a high performance
team environment - Ensure
appropriate governance mechanism for Airtel Uganda Technology Architecture
and IT processes.
- The
ideal candidate for the Airtel Telecom IT Director should hold a
University degree. Possession of an advanced degree and / or an MBA will
be desirable - Professional
qualification/certification in Project Management Techniques and related
disciplines - At
least ten years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years in senior management
role preferably with in IT /Telecoms Industry - Past
exposure and experience on delivering multiple complex projects and
institutionalizing IT Process is Key - P&L
Management - Five
or more years’ managerial experience in a GSM/mobile company - Possess
excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills - Successful
background with stakeholder management - Excellent
negotiation and partner management background. Able to manage a set of
managed services partners to deliver to business requirements
