Job Summary: The CRS
Training Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the administrative,
technical and financial management of the project activities in Uganda to
ensure it meets and/or exceeds its stated objectives and targets. The manager
will work in liaison with the Senior Project Officer and EFI partners to
develop the partner sub-grant contracts and annual work plans. The Manager will
steer the preparation of annual narrative and financial reports for the
project.
Training Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the administrative,

will work in liaison with the Senior Project Officer and EFI partners to
develop the partner sub-grant contracts and annual work plans. The Manager will
steer the preparation of annual narrative and financial reports for the
project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess
the capacity and training needs of project staff and partner staff; - Responsible
for the design and deliver training interventions (trainer-of trainers,
face-to-face learning, on-line learning, mentoring, and coaching) for
project staff and partner staff on the Private Service Provider (PSP)
-Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) methodology; - Strengthen
the capacity of partner staff to train and support field agents; - Actively
monitor training delivery and program implementation, through field visits
to partners. - Take
part in the design a ‘pro-poor’ PSP-SILC implementation approach and
related training curriculum; - Participate
in the development of a training and marketing package for a mobile money
linkage financial product for SILC groups; - Analyze
MIS data and translate it into programmatic recommendations; - Source,
adapt, and roll-out a microenterprise management curriculum; - Stay
updated on relevant developments in the microfinance industry, in
particular the savings group sub-sector as an active participant in the
SEEP Savings-Led Working Group.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant for the Program Manager vacancy should hold a Master’s degree in
economics, business administration, social sciences, development or
related field, or equivalent work experience; - At
least five years’ work experience in international development,
microfinance, 3 of which based in a developing country; - Three
or more years work experience with savings group implementation – with a
preference for community-agent and/or fee-for-service approaches; - Professional
proficiency in English. - Hands
on experience in curriculum design and training of adults; - Prior
experience using VSL Associates Savings Group MIS (Excel-based or online
database); - Past
exposure and experience with financial product development and/or mobile
money products desired; - Excellent
oral and written communication skills; - Possess
excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize tasks in a
timely manner; - Proven
ability to work successfully in diverse geographic and cultural settings; - Excellent
teamwork abilities and interpersonal skills; - Understanding
and appreciation of CRS’ commitment to work with and build partner
capacity; - Appreciation
for (or willingness to learn about) the Catholic Social Teaching concepts;
and - Willingness
to travel up to 40% of the work time. - All
