education, justice and rehabilitation for prisoners in Africa. We aim to
restore the dignity of those we serve by helping to provide humane conditions
and services which help them to regain their dignity. We build and refurbish
prison medical and educational facilities to provide innovative services and
work to change the attitudes of the societies we serve when it comes to
criminal justice issues.
Job Summary: The Finance
and Admin Manager will be a member of the senior management team overseeing all
financial and administrative functions of the organisation including, Financial
duties and admin duties which ensure that the organisation maintains a robust
and transparent status.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Supporting
    in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Bookkeeping
    duties including:
    • Sending monthly statements
    • Updating and maintaining of all grants budgets and financial
      reports.
    • Responsible for bank-statement reconciliation
    • Calculating VAT and PAYE payments
    • Maintaining petty cash
    • Depositing payments
    • Actively monitoring weekly cash flow
    • Payroll management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicants must have attained Bookkeeping Qualification or equivalent
  • Skills
    in Typing/Word Processing
  • Type
    and amount of experience and specific knowledge required for the job.
  • Relevant
    Bookkeeping Experience
  • Experience
    of working in an NGO would be desirable but not essential.
  • Computer
    literacy i.e. working knowledge of Microsoft Office & Internet
  • Proficiency
    in the use of QuickBooks accounting package
  • Possess
    excellent interpersonal skills (e.g; communication, self-awareness,
    building trust, questioning & listening, influencing, assertiveness,
    problem solving, decision making)
  • Numeracy
    & Literacy skills
  • Excellent
    organisational skills
  • Excellent
    telephone manner
  • Keen
    attention to detail
