Job Summary: The Credit
Administration Officer – Operations will be responsible for ensuring that all
disbursements are accurate and done in time whilst complying with the terms of
approval of credit facilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Receive
    minutes, other approvals for new or renewed facilities, security
    perfection sheet, all commissions and fees for security perfection debited
    in the customer’s account from Credit Administration (Control)
  • Intuitively
    check the files received in order to ensure completeness or the presence
    or absence of covenant or special conditions and their consistency with
    the rules and standards set by the bank on the form that the application
    must take
  • Ensure
    compliance with disbursement rules for loans requiring multiple
    disbursement of funds
  • Analyze
    any special conditions set on files and that they have been perfected
    before any action
  • Ensure
    receipt of customer’s approval on letter of offer
  • Ensure
    complete documentation for the processing of loans before disbursement
  • Responsible
    for ensuring confirmation of facilities limits before booking
  • Booking
    of discounted invoices, IPC’s in IGOR
  • Proceed
    for loan disbursement and facilities set up in IGOR system
  • Receive
    all amendments requests duly authorized by the bank on the loan granted
    (prepayments, changes in pricing conditions)
  • Check
    the accuracy of amendments requested (existence of approval given by an
    authorized structure or a person, consistent with the policy, rules and
    procedures,…)
  • Actively
    monitor of maturing invoices and IPCs
  • Monitor
    the process “instruction of credit files” in relation to time
    management device
  • Oversight
    of interest, fee and commissions conditions
  • In
    charge of recovery of commissions/processing fees on disbursed facilities
  • Amortization
    schedule management
  • Expeditiously
    follow on recovery of life insurance premiums on facilities granted and
    reconciliation with insurance provider
  • Ensure
    the archiving of credit files
  • Prepare
    and send various monthly and quarterly reports for management and
    regulatory bodies
  • Provide
    advisory (interpretational / explanatory) services to interested parties
    regarding facility documentation and requirements.
  • Work
    closely with and generate reports for management, external auditors and
    regulatory Authorities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Credit Administration Officer – Operations should hold a Bachelor’s Degree
    in Business, Finance, Banking, Accounting or a related field
  • Full
    or part professional qualifications in Finance or a related field e.g.
    CPA, ACCA will be added advantage
  • At
    least three years’ experience in Credit
  • Working
    knowledge of credit principles and practices
  • Detailed
    knowledge of financial products and services
  • Working
    knowledge of the relevant legal and regulatory guidelines including the
    Financial Institutions Act, the Mortgage Act, the Central Bank lending
    guidelines, the Financial Consumer Protection Guidelines etc
  • Customer
    centricity
  • Keen
    attention to details
  • Excellent
    numeric skills and ability to analyze data especially with spreadsheets
  • Good
    risk acumen
  • Excellent
    interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Good
    verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess
    the ability to work under pressure, and exercise excellent judgment
