Job Summary: The Nursing
Officer will be responsible for delivering professional, high quality and
efficient nursing care services for HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment (PCT)
including palliative/rehabilitation services and provision of SRH services in
order to improve health outcomes of children, adults and their families.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide
quality nursing care to HIV positive/negative clients and their families
both at MUg and Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) supported sites so as
to improve health outcomes. - Actively
promote an efficient and effective team that delivers well-coordinated
nursing services for improved health outcomes of the clients and the
community - Appropriately
utilise and account for the assigned organisational funds so as to ensure
achievement of the planned nursing activities - Build
knowledge and skills of health workers so as to deliver quality nursing
care both at MUg and supported sites - Provide
and maintain High quality nursing services to the clients and their
families, guided by Standard operating procedures with the available
resources - Actively
participate in operational research in order to demonstrate best practices
and contribute to new knowledge - Perform
any other tasks as may be assigned by your Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
candidate should hold a Diploma or Registration in Nursing. Possession of
a Bachelors’ degree in Nursing/Public Health will be an added advantage - A
minimum of two years’ experience in nursing services with specific
knowledge of HIV Care and. - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills, Proficiency in various Microsoft
office packages and working knowledge of English and local language(s) are
crucial. - Ability
to work under pressure; and in sympathy with the Christian values of
Mildmay Uganda. - Evidence
of a non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality
and lifestyle is critical.
