About RIAS Project:
In anticipation of a grant from
the German Government, the organization will implement a long-term project
“RIAS – Strengthen Resilience through Infrastructure, Agriculture and Skills”
in Arua and Adjumani District possibly starting in March 2015.The project aims
to improve the livelihood of refugees and local host communities in the
settlement areas.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee
the project’s accounting and advise management accordingly - Prepare
and manage all bank transactions - Update
and maintain accounting related data and prepare vouchers for book-keeping
and indicate their cost classification - Regularly
verify correctness of vouchers and receipts including supporting documents - Prepare
the monthly financial reports - Control
financial transactions and overall situation and prepare monthly and
annual budgets and tracking variances - Monitor
the cash-flow situation and verify the correctness of the petty cash
transactions - Provide
necessary documents and reports for internal controlling - Prepare
monthly payment sheets for staff (salaries) - Provide
necessary documents for the project’s financial planning and maintain the
office inventory list
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
candidate should hold a university degree in Accounting or Business
Administration - Four
or more years’ experience in finance management with an International NGO. - Computer
proficiency in computer packages (Excel and Word) is a must. - Possess
the ability to work independently and organized his/her work. - Working
knowledge of accountancy software packages such as WINNPACCs is an
advantage.
