About LDC:
The LDC has a mandate to
provide legal education to lawyers and non lawyers, undertake research in
topical legal issues, contribute to legal reform, produce legal publications,
teaching materials, law reports and also provide community legal services. Some
of It’s key functions include;

provide legal training to lawyers and non lawyers - To

Job Summary: The Assistant Editor, Law Reports will
primarily gather court decisions from courts of record, select, edit, compile,
style, proof-read and produce manuscripts for law reports (ULR and HCBs) ready
for printing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect
decisions from all courts of record in Uganda. - Organize
court decisions for summarizing and editing. - Edit
summaries for printing and publishing of ULR and HCBs. - The
incumbent will style manuscripts of ULR and HCBs. - Responsible
for conducting manuscript review and production. - Prepare
indices of the published titles. - In
charge of revising old publications. - Prepare
and maintain files of ULR and HCBs. - Perform
any other work assigned by the Editor or Head of Department.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from a recognized
university. Possession of a Master’s degree in law from a recognized
university is an added advantage. Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice
from Law Development Centre. - At
least three years’ experience in law reporting or law reform/revision
work. - Computer
literacy skills. - The
applicants must be enrolled advocates - The
applicant must also be a person of high integrity.
Age: Below 35 years
