About RIAS Project:
In anticipation of a grant from
the German Government, the organization will implement a long-term project
“RIAS – Strengthen Resilience through Infrastructure, Agriculture and Skills”
in Arua and Adjumani District possibly starting in March 2015.The project aims
to improve the livelihood of refugees and local host communities in the
settlement areas.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible
for designing, planning and budget estimation for community infrastructure
building (public health and educational infrastructure) rehabilitation and
construction of deep boreholes and managing WASH campaigns with refugees and rural
communities - Manage
the procurement procedure of public tender and prepare bill of quantities
and tender analysis. - Ensure
the timely designing of contract documents for civil works and supervision
of contractors to ensure timely achievements and strong compliance with
the quality standards. - Provide
regular quality monitoring of project work and feedback to the Management - Build
and maintain close relationship with relevant Departments of the districts - Responsible
for the preparation of compliance completion report at the end of the
various phases of the project.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering - At
least six years’ experience in Civil and Building Engineering preferably
gained within international NGO setting and with demonstrated capacity to
deliver results on time - Past
experience in managing several projects of buildings, roads and water.
Profound experience (5 years) in WASH context is desired - Cost
estimating, Architectural/ structural design software (CAD) and Contract
Management skills - Possess
excellent oral and written communication skills. - Computer
literacy skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CAD). - Excellent
interpersonal, leadership and communication skills - Possess
the ability to work and stay in remote/ rural locations.
