epidemiology training programs (FETPs) across Africa working side by side with
Ministries of Health, regional and international partners. AFENET works to
strengthen epidemiological and disease surveillance capabilities of Africa
countries that are critical to meeting the requirements of the Integrated
Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) strategy, and the International Health
Regulations (IHR). Established in 2005, AFENET has supported more than 20
African countries across sub-Saharan Africa advance their capabilities in early
detection and response to infectious and non-infectious diseases.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Work in liaison with the
Senior HR Officer to manage and follow up on local staff and country staff
contractual status and ensure appropriate and timely action
recommendation. - Provide timely support
and guidance in the day to day tasks in the Human Resource administration,
application of rules and regulations and in follow up of HR procedures and
other related policies. - Actively support all
Human resource functions at the Secretariat and in the entire organization
network. - Support in management of
HR records, filing and tracking of required documentation for filing. - Render support in
capturing, entering of all Human resource data into HR software and data
bases. - Prepare all relevant
employment documentation for newly recruited staff and assist the
induction and orientation processes. - Provide clerical and
logistical support to the HR office during trainings and in the
preparation of training and workshop materials and other HR functions. - Support in the
preparation and tracking of payment requisitions and other routine
correspondences between HR Office and other units. - Provide timely support
during staff performance evaluations. - In addition to the
general HR administration, assist in the implementation of various
entitlements for international, local staff and separated staff in
accordance with AFENET rules and regulations. - Maintain and generate
monthly staff attendance records and time sheets as well as offer
assistance in leave management and coordination of staff welfare, medical
and insurance schemes. - Provide support to the
Administration unit and/or other
units with clerical work that may range from: typing documents,
correspondences, entering data, scanning documents, filing and
photocopying.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- The Human Resource
Assistant should hold a Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resource Management or
Industrial Psychology. Possession of a Post Graduate training in Human
Resource management is added advantage. - At least two to three
years’ experience in a Human Resource management role in a busy work
environment or any reputable organization preferably an NGO is most
desired. - Possess excellent
analytical skills - Possess excellent
planning and organizing skills - Good judgment,
Initiative, High sense of responsibility and confidentiality - Be a good team player
- Possess excellent
communication, customer care and relationship skills. - Excellent computer
skills in Ms. Office packages and or HRIS
