Duties and Responsibilities:

- Offers technical support for programming processes to
be are carried out in conformity with UNDP standards and policies; - Supports the orderly operation of the project
activities, in line with established procedures and within established
budgets; - Supports the management of the project budgets;
Co-ordinate with other staff on related issues during preparation of
budget reports. - Provides guidance for the preparation, delivery and
review of project reports, letters and other documents related to the
project; - Works in liaison with UNDP and RCO to support
administrative and human resource processes according to UN rules and
regulations; - Liaise with UNDP and RCO to support recruitment, and
payment and procurement of project personnel and services; - Liaise with UNDP and RCO to coordinate asset management
including ensuring the safekeeping of office property, annual physical
inventory, preparing reports and cost analysis, and recommending
replacement/disposal of equipment and supplies; - Technically supports the implementation of a
communications strategy to advance project impact and sustainability; - Liaise with administrative staff to ensure general
office management, including cleaning services and the procurement,
maintenance and repair of equipment and supplies; - Supports arrangements for meetings, workshops,
trainings, seminars and visitors etc., including coordination of support
for protocol matters and travel arrangements (i.e. airline tickets, visas,
hotels, daily subsistence allowance, and vehicle maintenance). - Undertakes any other activities required for the
fulfillment of the mandate of the post.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- The United Nations UNDP Project Assistant should hold a
Bachelor’s degree in Development Social or Economic Studies and
specialized studies on Project management; MSc on Project Management will
be an asset. - A minimum of five years of professional experience on
programme and operations implementation. - Past experience working with UNDP will be an asset.
- Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in Microsoft
applications including Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project. - Language and
IT Skills: Excellent command of written and spoken English.
