Job Summary:  The
Talent Associate will contribute to the success of Living Goods from the very
core of the organization and should be good at spotting gaps and opportunities
in talent and matching these skills with prospective hires. In fact, you get

expanding rapidly, and as Talent Associate, you will play a key role in
supporting its growth. You will maintain existing systems and processes,
working with the talent team to ensure efficiency and productivity. You will
guide new hires through the interview process, from first screen to their first
few weeks of work, ensuring a smooth, positive transition. You will be invested
in the development of all team members, and take time perfecting training
programs and tracking progress. As such, you will ensure the caliber and
culture of training and development programs for micro-entrepreneurs mirrors
those of Living Goods staff. The Living Goods Talent Associate should be empathetic,
innovative and outcome-oriented individual with a passion for building,
supporting and developing dynamic teams. With a mission to reinvent

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 
1. Recruitment & Staffing:
  • Assist
    the Director of Talent and hiring managers with recruiting efforts;
    writing and editing job descriptions, posting online copy, screening
    applicants and managing applicant tracking system.
  • Actively
    coordinate interview process: schedule interviews, book times with
    candidates and hiring managers, send and screen assignments.
  • Compile
    offer letters and onboarding packages as well as sending and managing new
    hire paperwork.
  • Support
    Director of Talent to identify future talent needs/opportunities and
    proactively develop corresponding network connections and talent pools.
2. Training & Development:
  • Support
    Living Goods Hiring Managers to design and execute smooth orientation for
    new hires: support with relocation, orientation to Kampala or applicable
    city, orientation to new team.
  • Design
    National Intern program for Summer 2015 pilot: define clear goal for
    program and complete feasibility study for sourcing talent, managing
    interns, assigning projects.
3. Talent Enablement & Administration:
  • Actively
    support and manage vendor relationships for Visa & immigration
    applications and temporary work permits for staff as needed.
  • Maintain
    virtual human resource files; ensuring all hard copy documents are
    transferred to cloud files, and recorded in HR tracking system; assuring
    accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
  • Support
    Director of Talent in ongoing development of employee benefit packages, HR
    Policy as well as Health and Safety Policy.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
  • The
    Talent Associate should possess four or more years’ experience in a
    fast-paced environment, with a proven track record of working well both
    independently and in a team.
  • The
    candidate should hold an Undergraduate degree mandatory, social sciences
    preferred.
  • At
    least a year’s experience in candidate management with international
    applicants in social enterprise sector a must.
  • Past
    project management experience a must.
  • A
    diverse understanding of talent and experience building new relationships
    with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Past
    e Experience working in international social enterprises and start ups a
    must.
  • Problem
    solver used to taking initiative.
  • Highly
    proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and Social Media a must.
  • Excellent
    written and oral communication skills
  • Preferred
    key skills: sourcing, recruiting, event management, relationship
    management, people management, database management.
  • Past
    experience working in Africa or in different cultures a plus.
  • Be
    friendly, collegial spirit, with a can do attitude!
