Job Summary: The
Operations Manager will support the Managing Director in ensuring profitable
underwriting of Individual & Group Life business as well as superior
customer experience & relationship building to our Individual &
Corporate clients. Also, the incumbent will be providing adequate leadership to
the team to ensure both career & growth of business

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- In
charge of Leadership- provide leadership to direct reports by mentoring
& training direct reports - Renewal
retention & persistency Ratio- Timely preparation & dispatch of
renewal & other communication (Premium statements, compliance check
lists, member pension certificates etc) to clients & Brokers - Customer
Service & ensure client relationship building to retain & grow
business - Responsible
for business growth/Development - Individual
& Corporate Business Profitability through proper underwriting &
rating of new & existing schemes - Reinsurance-
quarterly reinsurance accounts preparation & confirmation of
statistics for reinsurers - Actuarial
valuation- Individual & Group Life schemes valuation data preparation - Accurate
& timely management reports required for management decision
making-EXCOM - &
MANCOM reporting, underwriting register - Reconciliations-
Monthly reconciliations of premiums & other financial data with
finance - Credit
control- play a key part in premium collections with the aim of keeping
debtor days within approved limit - Works
in liaison with the industry bodies & Regulator to provide requisite
information.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The
Operations Manager should possess a good knowledge and understanding of
Insurance products & processes - The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in business related field - A
minimum of 5 Credits in Professional exams e.g. ACII, Actuarial - At
least five years’ relevant working experience in the management of an
operations department in an operationally efficient organization in the
financial services sector - Skills
in providing leadership to the Individual & Group Life Technical teams - Possess
the ability to identify customer needs and craft solutions to meet these
needs - Excellent
negotiation skills - Ability
to listen and understand the needs or concerns of customers - Excellent
communication skills - Excellent
problem-solving skills - Highly
proactive - Possess
the ability to work under minimal supervision - Execution
& follow up skills - Possess
the ability to resolve customer queries and make decisions that will
