Job Summary: The Quality
Assurance Manager will be in charge of developing, implementing and managing an
effective quality management system at the water plant and in trade, coordinate
the activities of the various Technical Departments and bring them into one
Integrated Quality Management System as well as support the implementation and
sustenance of ISO Quality Systems.
Assurance Manager will be in charge of developing, implementing and managing an
effective quality management system at the water plant and in trade, coordinate
the activities of the various Technical Departments and bring them into one
Integrated Quality Management System as well as support the implementation and
sustenance of ISO Quality Systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Practice and implement the Manufacturing
Way within the Quality Assurance department and i support its implementation
across the Technical Function - Conduct scheduled process/SOPs audits as
stipulated in the Quality management system - Steer the Quality assurance department in
accordance with the SABMiller management principles to support the
organization’s overall focus on performance and talent management, values,
management and self-management practices - Develop, communicate and manage production
standards and specifications using standard operating procedures across
the Technical Function - Maintain a safe, healthy and risk free
working environment - Conform to value chain requirements
through managing and controlling the quality environment by optimizing the
availability of measuring equipment, QA administration - Control costs in manufacturing through
minimizing ; defects in the plant and controlling chemical/reagents usage - Actively support roll-out of Global
Quality Management systems within the business - Ensure equipment reliability through Asset
management and facilitate problem solving - Actively promote quality excellence in the
value chain by communicating process and product information, provide
leadership to ensure commitment to product quality and apply the quality
system in the workplace. - Ensure that the right specifications of
raw materials and finished products are delivered at all times - Conduct supplier audits and verify that
they meet the required standards as stipulated in the Quality Management
system.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelors
of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Food Science and
Technology from an accredited University - At least five years’ Managerial experience
in a beverage or similar FMCG environment with a focus on Quality
Management - Operational excellence and improvement
bias - Good communicator across all levels within
and external to the organization. - Customer focused mind-set and approach
- Proven problem solving skills with an
ability to manage complexity and ambiguity - Excellent self-management practices
- Highly proactive, energetic and committed
- Flexible, adaptable and practical
- High tolerance for stress and managing the
operational realities of the business
