Job Summary: The Director
of Forecasting will responsible for ensuring analyses of daily data and issue
real time weather forecasts whilst providing aeronautical meteorological
services and public weather services

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the Directorate of Forecasting
- Guides the Executive Director on
Forecasting matters - Prepares annual work plans and budgets for
the Directorate - Manages, mentors and appraises senior staff
in the Directorate - Actively
coordinates preparation and submission of reports of the
Directorate - Responsible for weather forecasting,
public weather service, and briefing services - Maintain equipment standards and
communication procedures as specified by WMO; - Actively coordinate and implement
activities of WMO Commissions for Aeronautical Meteorology (CAeM) and
Marine Meteorology (CMM);
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for this placement
should hold an Honors Bachelor in Natural Sciences and a Master’s degree
Meteorology or related fields (Environmental Studies, Agriculture,
Forestry, Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences from a recognized university.
Additional training in either Public Administration, Business
Administration or Management studies is an added advantage - A minimum of eight or more years
experience in a related field, working with a reputable organization, two years
of which must be at a senior managerial level.
