About Ni-Yetu Youth Programme:
Ni-Yetu Youth Program is a program which integrates promotion of Youth
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights and prevention of Gender Based Violence
among young people which is going to be implemented in five districts of
Tororo, Kamuli, Lira, Alebtong and Kampala for three and half years. Plan
International Uganda with funding from SIDA will engage national and local CSOs
to implement this program. Ni-Yetu is a Swahili word which literally stands for
‘it is ours’ and has been carefully selected by the youth representatives to
demonstrate youth identification and ownership for the program. The program
seeks to empower young people to demand for and fulfil their rights in a
participatory and inclusive manner that also recognizes and actively engages
with CSOs, key public sector agencies at various levels as well as relevant
community-level actors.
Job Summary: The Partnership
Support Coordinator will be responsible for developing and guiding the capacity
building process of partners. The incumbent will develop the partnership
strategy, policies, guidelines and templates to ensure that partners work in
adherence with Plan Global Standards on partnerships and implementing the
project goals. He/she will also oversee the capacity building process for
partners and ensure that it is systematic and with long term impact. This job
will have a strong advisory dimension to the overall partnership strategy of
Plan and the experience of this project will be used to inform the country
strategy.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and maintain functional
    relationships with project partners that support delivery of project plans
    and attainment of long term strategic relationships.
  • The incumbent will develop strategies,
    guidelines, tools and action plans on partnership management and support
    teams to effectively work with, apply and implement them.
  • Develop and manage specific tools to guide
    sub-granting processes to local CBOs.
  • Develop implements and support
    implementation of capacity building for partners as part of the project
    deliverables.
  • Guide the Project Manager in overseeing
    the partner relationships according to Plan Global Standards.
  • Actively collaborate with existing and new
    partners to deliver, monitor and evaluate the project.
  • Technically support the project and its
    partners identify and network with organizations at different levels that
    support achievement of project objectives
  • Advise Plan County management and
    recommend strategic partnership direction in key thematic areas.
  • Ensure proper visibility of Plan and other
    partners in all project interventions.
  • Organize regular partnership review
    meetings to ensure smooth running of the partnership.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a degree in Social Science, Social Work, Communication or any other
    related field
  • Additional training at post-graduate level
    in Public Relations is of added advantage
  • Three or more years’ experience in working
    with different partners.
  • Past experience in developing partnership
    strategies, manuals and tools for capacity building of partners
  • Excellent partnership management and team
    leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and
    communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Working knowledge in implementation of
    rights based programming.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in
    report writing.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work
    cooperatively with partners
  • Ability to work with people from diverse
    cultures, ability to lead and motivate people to work in teams.
  • Ability to develop synergies and
    integration of different project.
  • Proven ability of working in different
    partnership.
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. Proven
    computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software including MS Word
    processing, Power point presentation, Excel spreadsheets, e-mail and web
    based research.
