Job Summary:  The Country Director will provide overall
leadership and strategic direction for the FEED country programs in Uganda. The
incumbent will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the
FEED program activities in Uganda and towards achieving organizational vision,
mission and promise. He / She will be charged with leading the programmatic and
operational management and represent FEED at Government, Local and
international levels and oversee implementation and review of the country
program strategy. Responsible for promoting resource mobilization &
fundraising initiatives and explore partnerships for sustainable running of
Programs. S/he is responsible for overall Financial and Human resources of the
country office.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1.
Leadership:
·        
Demonstrate
ethical behavior and decision making in every aspect of work.
·        
In
charge of developing and periodically reviewing and updating the strategic plan
for FEED Uganda.
·        
Make
sure the FEED Office in Uganda is aligned with Regional and Global organization
priorities.
·        
Build
a culture of accountability with the country team.
2.
Fund Raising and Resource mobilization:
·        
Work
closely with resource mobilization team to develop proposals, concept papers to
increase funding base to ensure programs are fully funded.
·        
Develop
clear fundraising policies and strategies to explore more opportunities.
·        
Develop
networks, collaboration and good working relations with government agencies,
appropriate church bodies, NGO’s and other actors in the country to identify
partnership opportunities and ensure acceptance of FEED programs.
·        
Ensure
retention of existing donors in order to support program continuity.
·        
Technically
support the team in initiating development activities that are
locally/communally funded and sustainable.
3.
Programing:
·        
Manage
the effective implementation of FEED programs in Uganda based on the pillars
and priorities set out to be achieved.
·        
Work
closely with program team set standards for improving the quality and
effectiveness of existing program activities in line with FEED vision and
mission.
·        
Responsible
for program monitoring and evaluation, explore available opportunities and give
recommendations for new or enhanced program areas in other viable regions of
Uganda.
·        
Actively
monitor Project impact/outcomes and documentation of activities carried out.
4.
Management:
·        
Effectively
manage budgeting, monitoring and Protection of organization assets and funds
against fraud and financial abuse.
·        
Ensure
timely reporting to donors and the US head office is accurate and in compliance
with donor requirements.
·        
In
charge of  hiring and monitoring
performance of FEED staff in Uganda programs.
·        
Ensure
compliance with organizational and Government policies.
·        
Work
in liaison with the Managing Board to make certain decisions and provide an
oversight role.
·        
Ensure
timely internal and external communication.
·        
Cultivate
culture of professionalism at all levels of work.
5.
Staff Development:
·        
Provide
individual guidance on staff development as part of an ongoing staff
evaluation.
·        
Promote
an atmosphere of shared learning, mentoring and coaching.
·        
Inspire
and motivate the team
·        
Set
evaluation measures to ensure improvement of team performance.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
Country Director should hold a Bachelors’ degree in Social science or relevant
field, Master’s degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.
·        
A
minimum of three to five years’ experience in management
·        
Working
knowledge of the principles of community development, the use of participatory
development techniques for development.
·        
Past
exposure and experience in program design, proposal and report writing.
·        
Demonstrated
ability and potential to grow country program scope and funding sources.
·        
Project
Management skills
·        
Computer
literacy skills i.e. proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
·        
Excellent
communication skills both written and spoken
·        
Experience
managing or working with US grants.
·        
Past
experience managing transformational and sustainable program approaches.
