The Uganda National Council
for Science and Technology (UNCST) is a statutory organization mandated
facilitate and coordinate the development and implementation of policies and
strategies for integrating Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) into the
national development process. UNCST was
established by CAP 209, under the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic
Development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct
strategic S&T policy studies. - Perform
S&T policy analysis and development. - Carry
out annual industrial surveys. - Actively
monitor industrial sector performance. - Monitor
the performance of S&T in the national development programmes and
plans (industrial production statistics and technology transfer). - Work
closely with other stakeholders within the S&T sector. - Prepare
an annual report on the status of human capital development in Uganda - Perform
any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- All
candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development,
Public Policy, Statistics & Economics. Possession of a Master’s degree
in a relevant field is an added advantage - At
least three years’ experience in a busy work environment - Possess
the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders; - Excellent
communication skills. - Strong
quantitative and qualitative analytical skills - Working
knowledge of Ugandan higher education sector & labor market setting - High
degree of integrity and commitment - Possess
the ability to work independently and in a multi-cultural environment - Highly
computer literate
Age: less than 35 years
