Bank has become a household name and has grown in leaps and bounds with a good
track record among the pioneers of a mortgage lending. National Housing &
Construction Corporation, a parastatal involved in real estate business has 5%
shareholding and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) holds 50% and the
Government of Uganda holds 45%. Today, the bank looks back with pride on the
business accomplished in the mortgage lending business. Through innovation and
placing emphasis on Honesty, Integrity, Efficiency and Customer care, Housing
Finance Bank is the leader in the mortgage, holding a 90% market share.
Job Summary: The Manager – Scheme Lending will coordinate
the implementation of the Housing Finance bank’s personal and scheme banking
strategy in line with the set retail targets and the banks policies and
procedures
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • In
    charge of implementing and communicating the bank’s scheme banking
    strategy for all personal banking products and market segments in line
    with retail banking strategy
  • In
    charge of the development and coordination of implementation /review of
    methods for improving operational efficiency with employer organizations
    through effective relationship management.
  • Carry
    out regular and periodic visits for key scheme accounts to resolve
    particular issues and support sales initiatives in line with the set
    targets and the customer service standards.
  • Identify
    scheme opportunities in the market and deliver action plans for converting
    such opportunities into actual sales.
  • Keenly
    analyze daily activity call reports and sales results from Relationship
    Officers and provide periodic update for management action.
  • Offer
    technical support and build a high performing team committed to achieving
    consistently high levels of productivity
  • Initiate
    and coordinate implementation of an effective personal banking risk
    management framework in line with the bank’s risk management and credit
    policy
  • Implement
    an effective system for customer service in line with the sen/ice level
    agreements.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    Housing Finance Bank Manager – Scheme Lending should hold a Bachelor’s
    degree from a recognised university,
  • At
    least four years’ experience in Portfolio Relationship management with a
    Commercial Bank.
  • Detailed
    working knowledge and understanding of the Personal Banking market to
    source the best possible sales leads.
  • Knowledge
    of customer profiles and understanding of business cycles.
  • Detailed
    knowledge and understanding of risk management principles.
  • Basic
    knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Working
    knowledge of the customer value propositions for all the market segments.
  • Knowledge
    of the Retail sales strategy and quality performance indicators.
  • Excellent
    interpersonal and strong communication and presentation skills
  • High
    level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent
    planning and organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent
    problem solving and analytical and report writing skills
  • Age: Below 35 years
