Summary: The
Administration Officer provides professional, efficient and effective reception
services for the Save the Children Gulu office; handles bookings and
confirmations for travel, functions and hotels reservations. He / she also
provides support in administration, stores, facilities maintenance, repairs for
office and residential property and attends to residential services. The
incumbent provides timely, efficient and effective filing management and
archiving system for Office, manages the resource centre and handle all
incoming and outgoing mails.
- The ideal candidate for the Save the
Children Administration Officer career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in humanities or relevant field. - A minimum of three or more years’
experience in office administration or management preferably in an INGO - Computer literacy skills i.e. working
knowledge especially MS Word, Excel, Power Point, email & Internet use. - Past exposure and experience
of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights
Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an
added advantage. - Excellent analytical skills
and strategic planning abilities. - Ability to establish and
maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a
team. - Computer literacy and
excellent documentation skills are a must. - Willingness to travel and
work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions. - Availability and willingness
to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses. - Highly developed cultural
awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people
from diverse backgrounds and cultures. - Ability to intervene with
crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary. - Exceptional interpersonal and
communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching. - Excellent time management and
planning capacity. - Availability and willingness
to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
