Child focused
NGO, based in Kiboga. It is an umbrella organization, supported by
ChildFund
International to support six (6) communities (Masodde, Butemba, Kiyuni,
Wakiso, Gayaza
and Kinabwe) located in the districts of Kyankwanzi, Wakiso and Luwero.
These
communities are characterized by adverse child poverty and adversity. CECE,
with funding support from ChildFund International strives to demystify the
faces of deprivation, exclusion and vulnerability among children by “uprooting”
their root causes.
Job Summary: The Correspondence
Assistant (CA) will support the Community Development Facilitator (CDF) in the
implementation of the Life stage programing approach. The job holder will form part
of the community team that will plan, administer, coordinate and monitor all
Federation sponsorship activities, programs and projects, mentor Community
Volunteers, Children, Youth and Parents with a goal of becoming a “leader for
children.”
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1.
Sponsorship Management:
·        
The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out home
visits to provide support, guidance.
·        
Assist the Community Development Facilitator (CDF) in
facilitating Sponsorship and safety net awareness in the community.
·        
Work with the Community Development Facilitator
(CDF) to ensure that sponsorship work is carried out in a timely and
professional manner and in accordance with ChildFund International policy.
·        
Maintaining high standard of stewardship and
accountability for all resources entrusted to him/her.
·        
Understanding, appreciate and enforce adherence to
child protection policy in sponsorship management
·        
Working knowledge and skills in engaging children
and youth in activities that promote their development.
2.
Capacity Building and Development:
·        
Actively participate in program monitoring
·        
Regularly mobilize Parents, Community members,
Children and Youth to actively participate in project cycle.
·        
Actively participate in training of Zonal
mobilizers, families and monitoring of sponsor relations activities.
3.
Process Monitoring and Documentation:
·        
Participate in CVS data entry
·        
Work in liaison with Zonal Mobilizers and CDFs to
implement CVS action plans.
·        
Support the Community Development Facilitator (CDF)
in the maintenance of up-to-date children’s information, and folders.
·        
Responsible for documenting best practices and case
studies.
·        
Actively participate in all Area and Community
meetings that require attention of the CA.
4.
Others Duties:
·        
Keeps oneself updated on the latest methods and
practices on community development and capacity building for possible
application in the community.
·        
Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the
Supervisors from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidates for the Child Fund
International CECE Correspondence Assistant (CA) should preferably hold at
least a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE). Additional certificates in the
areas of Project planning & management, secretarial work, Education,
Developmental Studies, Social work and Social Administration, Community Based
Rehabilitation, Adult and Community Education, Community Psychology or
Community Leadership is an added advantage
·        
A minimum of one year’s experience in Community
Development projects in a Child focused NGO.
·        
Specific inclination in areas of child development
is must.
·        
Detailed understanding, appreciation and adherence
to child protection policy.
·        
Working knowledge and skills in engaging children
and youth in activities that promote their development.
·        
Proven ability in organizing and facilitating
groups.
·        
Proven expertise and experience in human relations
is required.
·        
Working knowledge and understanding of child
Sponsorship standards is a must.
·        
Detailed working knowledge in community development
work.
·        
Working Knowledge of participatory community
development approaches; mobilization and capacity building.
·        
The incumbent must be highly reliable and
independent, able to work with minimal supervision under pressure.
·        
Dynamic and result oriented.
·        
Computer literacy i.e. working knowledge of
Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet is
required.
·        
Knowledge of the local language is a MUST
·        
Ability and willingness to stay in the project
locations
·        
Motorcycle riding with a valid license is desirable
